Guernsey is the second largest of the Channel Islands and is a very popular destination for families and couples alike.
A comment made by many of our guests is there is something in Guernsey for everybody and every taste.
Guernsey has a variety of green flag beaches to suit the many and varied tastes concerning the use of the sea today.
We can boast long Sandy beaches for the family, or that sheltered cove where you could be the only person around enjoying the peace and tranquillity on offer at such a place.
Also some of the beaches are good for surfing and sail boarding alike. Let us not forget that being surrounded by sea also offers the potential for great fishing. Below is a link to one of the many angling charters available.
The cliff paths, nature trails and island lanes make Guernsey a recognised choice for ramblers and walkers alike. For the more rugged enthusiast a walk along the miles of cliff path is a must and for those who prefer a gentler stroll, take in the beauty of the walks in the country lanes or along the North coast.
The Guernsey Information Office also provides information regarding guided walks around St Peter Port.
The main town is St Peter Port which is just a short walk from the Albany. The town itself is easily negotiated via the main cobbled high street offering a wide choice of shops some familiar some not so familiar.
Alternatively you can walk along the front and take in the stunning backdrop of the marinas and views across the bay.
Throughout the town you will find a variety of restaurants serving International dishes and of course seafood, along with cafe's and bars serving a selection of beer and wine. Aside from the main town dotted around the island are other excellent eateries and watering holes, not to be missed when taking in the island experience.
If you enjoy a good evenings entertainment then St Peter Port is the place to be offering a variety of Bars and nightclubs to suit all tastes and all within easy reach of one another.
Guernsey is steeped in History all of which is on offer to all visitors . Through island Heritage you can find out about our Neolithic past right up to the present day.
You can see the French influence by the street and road names but the people and the museums show the loyalty to England and the crown.
A visit to Guernsey is not complete without a visit to the many Heritage sites on offer in various parts of the island. However if it is not for you at least go to Elizabeth castle to get an overview on times past to the present day, I can assure you it will not be disappointing.
